Job description
Duties Assists DRCs with the accomplishment of personal logistics involved in deployment preparation, mid-deployment support, and sea-shore rotations. Provides supervisory technical, clinical, and administrative oversight and directs work to be accomplished. Provides oversight of DRC clinical services, ensuring services delivered are within the authorized scope of Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) clinical care. Provides supervision of risk assessment and case management services and other counseling interventions as appropriate for clients. Coordinates the delivery of DRC services to other Navy vessels and tenant commands located in the region, as appropriate, e.g., temporary assignments to smaller ships/tenants, and transiting to new duty stations/brief underway periods. Communicates regularly with military leaders to coordinate DRC services both aboard ships and ashore. Serves as the primary specialist and coordinator for the DRC program and other FFSP programs. Ensures training programs comply with FFSP, NMC and SAIL Certification Standards. Conducts or participates in FAP trainings for senior leadership and key personnel, e.g., Command FAP representatives, new commanding officers, IDC members. Coordinates the preparation of all required clinical reports and instructions in a timely manner. Maintains databases, records and statistical data for required reports. Establishes and maintains quality assurance review procedures to ensure all counseling and advocacy programs supported by the DRC program are in accordance with program requirements and certification standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Qualifications Specialized Experience: 0101/0180/01855 years' specialized experience in applying principles and practices (such as research methods, group dynamics, motivational psychology, domestic violence, developmental psychology, and family systems therapy. Licensure/certification by a state or U.S. territory that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology AND 2 years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification? A current license must be uploaded/included with your application to be considered for this position. Education Basic Requirements: 0101 Bachelor's degree or higher in behavioral or social science; or related discipline as appropriate to the position, such as Marriage and Family Therapy; Mental Health Counseling; or completion of a degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) AND at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services. OR Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, including at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field, including at least 2 years of direct experience in the prevention intervention, or treatment of child abuse or domestic abuse, or the provision of maternal or child health support services. OR Basic Requirements: 0180Doctoral degree (Ph.D or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology AND 5 years of specialized experience. OR Basic Requirements: 0185 Master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND 5 years of specialized experience. AND Possess one of the following degrees: (1) Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree. (2) Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree. (3) Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree. (4) Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a 1-year APA accredited clinical internship.
