Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has a job opportunity for a full time Modernization Manager in Norfolk, VA. Summary: The Modernization Manager supports the Force Type Desk Officer (TDO) in the oversight of the ship modernization program for CRUDES Class Ships. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide assistance in reviewing final Ship Change Document (SCD)/Alteration completion data to provide analysis of initial BCA and final Return on Investment (ROI) projections.
Review and provide input to Type Desk Assistant (TDA) on AWP and other availabilities including MMBP to ensure it accurately reflects all Planned, Program and Fleet Modernization jobs.
Review and analyze the planning and executing of New and Growth repairs, modernization related requirements, and cross ship class alteration and modernization programs.
Perform Modernization Manager Duties as assigned by the N43 Type Desk Officers (TDOs) and Type Desk Managers (TDMs).
Research and prepare A-540 LOAs and Changes made from Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Ships Availability Planning sheets, Fleet Modernization Maintenance Program TMP-11 report, NDE runs, Entitlement Process (EP) tracking
Refine and update the developed Modernization Tracker for assigned class ships.
Participate in the monthly Strategic Integrated Scheduling Review (SISR) teleconference and provided TYCOM level feedback and guidance.
Monitor execution of repairs and Fleet modernization during CMAV and Phased Maintenance Availabilities (PMA).
Attend N43 meetings and training events as scheduled by the N43 CNSL Staff.
Participate in 3rd Party Planning (3PP) TELCON on planning process.
Participate in Surface Ships' alteration priority chart.
Attend monthly Class CNO Availability maintenance progress TELECON and provide status to CNSL N43 leadership
Participate in the weekly N43 Execution and Planning Tactical meetings as scheduled.
Track and coordinate D-Alts (TYCOM ALTS), Mandatory Safety Alts (MSA), and Machinery Alts during CMAVs and SRAs
Ensure outside activities conducting modernizations update ILS and EOSS/CSOSS.
Coordinate LARS (Liaison Action Request).
Ensure outside activities conducting modernization update Ship Installation Drawings (SID).
Coordinate funding requirements with outside activities (i.e. PARMs)
Request funding through Type Desk
Coordinate Strike Force Interoperability requirements with TYCOM N6. Required Qualifications: Must have HS Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of expereince
Prior Navy E-7 or above with engineering and availability planning experience or have advanced availability planning experience from maintenance activities (i.e. SURFMEPP, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, etc.)
Working knowledge of Surface ship maintenance availability requirements
Proficient with reading and writing Naval Messages
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Detailed knowledge and expertise of Naval administrative and correspondence policies, instructions and regulations required
Proficient in verbal and written communication with senior Naval Officers and senior civilian leaders Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens Preferred Qualifications US Navy experience on CRUDES Class ships. ADA Notations: Must be able to work in an office environment. May sit for long periods of time.
Must also be able to work in a shipyard environment and on naval vessels on occasion. Must be able to get up and down ladders and in tight spaces where required.
