Job description

Overview:
Coordinates and implements various tasks to support the academic and administrative programs of the School of Health Professions. The position works with the Program Directors of the various academic programs in SHP and interacts with students, faculty, the Office of the Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Financial Services, the general public, and others as needed. The position will also provide additional administrative support to the Office of the Sr. Vice President & Dean of the School of Health Professions.

Responsibilities:
Performs administrative support functions for the Health Professions programs.

Guides prospective SHP students through the SHP's application process.

Works with program directors, admissions, and enrollment to process student applications.

Prepares, monitors, and processes purchase orders and requisitions through Procure+ for the SHP programs, to include reimbursements, ordering of educational material for program directors, office, and lab supplies.

Purchasing Card holder for SHP. Maintains records for credit card purchases and reconciles bankcard statements, prepares one-time faculty payments, interdepartmental transfers, and sole-source payments; and monitors program budget expenditures.

Updates program student handbooks and works in conjunction with Marketing and Communication and program directors to create and edit marketing materials for SHP programs.

Assists in the organization of distance education Residential Internship week logistics to include meal set-up and breakdown, assisting with arranging accommodations and local transportation; creates work orders for materials management and housekeeping; schedules rooms; monitors student pre-orientation course assignment completion; obtains faculty lectures and educational materials to create residential educational booklets and Blackboard/CANVAS course. Coordinates with all involved offices at EVMS, such as Office of Research, Occupational Health, Comparative Medicine for securing access to EVMS vivarium for students, Human Resources for student ID card and with Special Events where appropriate.

Hosts tours of facilities for prospective SHP students as requested by program directors.

Partner with program directors in the coordination, scheduling, and organization of perspective student open house events.

Communicates with faculty three months in advance of textbook requests for upcoming term, communicates requests to the bookstore.

Proficient in GradCAS

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required. Proficiency in MS office Suite and Outlook required. Prior administrative experience is a plus.
