Description Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Work Location: Naval Station Norfolk, VA Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. We are currently seeking to hire a Program Manager (PM) at Naval Station Norfolk (VA) to manage an active program in support of a dynamic U.S. Navy Directorate specializing in design, research, development, testing, and evaluation of experimental watercraft for its DoD clients. SA-TECH is ensuring performance and fleet readiness by providing full-spectrum O&M support of specialized combatant craft, patrol boats, Special Operations Forces platforms and coastal craft and we are looking for proven leadership with small-boat experience to help us continue delivering superior results for our US Navy customer. Our PM will be responsible for the oversight and management of all tasks required by the Statement of Work and shall have a strong financial background as well as leadership, communication and management skills. The PM shall have the knowledge, expertise, authority, and resources to perform efficient and timely program execution and will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) to the customer regarding overall operations management and performance issues. Performance issues may include cost or financial concerns, or any potential problems that, if unresolved, may adversely affect the program's performance, schedule, or costs. The PM shall take all appropriate measures to mitigate adverse impacts and be prepared to discuss long-term solutions, as applicable. Some of the basic duties of the position include (but are not limited to): Serve as the primary POC and liaison with the customer.
Provide program management support to include office operations and direct and indirect supervision.
Perform contractual, financial and administrative work, to include project controls, strategic management procedures and senior-level communications.
Organize and prescribe daily activities based on the goals of the organization, customer and program.
Continuously evaluate and assess the programs' strengths and weaknesses, and adjust systems, processes, procedures and activity accordingly.
Interview and hire qualified applicants to maintain effective staffing levels.Work Conditions: Work will be performed mostly in enclosed buildings, office areas, and industrial warehouse environments, although some activity may involve being onboard vessels.
Activity will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with at least five years of experience with program management for a government contractor supporting DoD programs.
A minimum of five years of experience with military small watercraft.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in a business, engineering, or managerial field or eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for education.
Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
