This team works collaboratively on naval engineering contracts supporting the Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and other commercial customers to drive innovation and deliver solutions that address the complex challenges. As we continue to expand our operations and partnerships, we are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Scientist of Naval Programs to lead our cutting-edge research initiatives from our Alexandria, VA office. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of naval technology in our Norfolk, VA location.
Position Overview: Build and maintain a dynamic master schedule for current and pending USV efforts that include supporting personnel and resources, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
In this role you will:
Develop and maintain a USV Master Schedule that integrates Code 83 Branch and Project schedules. The Master Schedule is envisioned to depict projects and their related events, milestones and deliverables that will allow leadership a one stop view of USV activity.
Assist developing and maintaining documentation related to asset requirements and personnel requirements.
Weekly status that includes a calendar of milestones, deliverables, events, expectations, needs that depend on Code 83 ashore, afloat, and human resources. This includes manpower analysis due to queued statement of work.
Continuous interaction with government leadership such as branch heads, project leads, technical leads, and business support managers, and Customer Advocates to track changes in deliverables, schedules, asset requirements and personnel requirements.

Collaborate with the waterfront integrator to make sure immediate and pending resource needs maintain alignment with the master schedule
Communicate new requirements and schedule changes to all stakeholders
Coordinate with Navy stakeholders and participate in technical reviews, on water workups, and demonstrations.
Understand the source of funding and what the goals and objectives of each funding sponsor
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Bachelor's degree in Business or technical field with 5-7 years experience In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience.
US citizenship and eligibility and a Secret security clearance required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated knowledge of US Navy and DoD acquisition processes, standards, and protocols.
Familiarity with naval surface vessel platforms and their operational requirements.
Proven leadership abilities including collating necessary information from various sources
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving project requirements and priorities.
Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and safety in all aspects of the job.
Adherence to strict security protocols and confidentiality requirements in handling sensitive information related to Navy projects.
Ability to travel 10%
