Description As a Systems Design Engineer , you'll be dedicated to supporting our government client's system initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative, secure, and scalable IT solutions that address complex challenges faced by our government client. Your expertise will be critical in aligning technology strategies with the client's mission and objectives while ensuring the highest standards of security, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities Identify, conceive, design, develop, and modify end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire lifecycle. Lead the design and development of comprehensive, end-to-end technology solutions that meet functional, non-functional, and system requirements. Create architectural blueprints, models, and documentation to communicate designs effectively. Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Assesses solution performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Collaborate closely with government stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to understand business needs, goals, and requirements and how they align with the system design. Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop detailed requirements. Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generate system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Review test plans/procedures and ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participate in the testing process to validate the target solution. Mentor and coach junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team. Ensure architectural consistency and adherence to best practices across projects. Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update stakeholders on project progress, technical decisions, and potential challenges. Collaborate with senior management and government officials to define long-term strategies that align with the client's mission and goals. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Integrate robust security measures and compliance requirements into solution designs, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive government data. Provide oversight throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that architectural designs are executed as planned and addressing any deviations or challenges. Required Qualifications DoD Secret clearance. Bachelor's or Master's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. At least 15 years as a System engineer, with a significant portion dedicated to DoD projects or clients. Experience designing and architecting a wide variety of solutions including platform, cloud, system, etc. for large-scale projects. In-depth knowledge of DoD technology standards, regulations, and security requirements (specifically JCIDS). Strong expertise in solution design, system integration, and architecture patterns. Proficiency in a wide range of technologies and platforms, both established and emerging. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Desired Qualifications Relevant certifications such as MBSE, DODAF or TOGAF or familiarity with INCOSE best practices are a plus. Additional Information Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check prior to employment. Physical requirements for this position include the ability to life 25 pounds regularly, the ability to move safely in confined spaces, the ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when needed, the ability to go onsite to company and customer worksites, the ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, the ability to use a computer keyboard, and the ability to see and respond to dangerous situations when needed.
