Technical Writing/Editor Specialist Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US Selected candidates for hire must be willing to work onsite in Norfolk, Virginia. This is not a remote position. Must be able to obtain Secret-level clearance from the DoD. The Opportunity: A professional who is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve our organization's final deliverables to meet customer-established quality standards. You will focus on process-oriented tasks, such as creating and implementing well-defined standards, procedures, and checklists within the document development process. The goal is to reduce variation and ensure consistency and repeatable results, by overlapping capabilities when reviewing each customer deliverable with 100% accuracy. Responsibilities: Responsible for proofreading, editing, and formatting documentation for the training developed under the Sailor 2025 Ready Relevant Learning effort for the Fire Controlman Aegis (FCA) courses. Responsible for reviewing/editing Training Guides, Lesson Plans, online content, and other documentation. Assist in collecting and organizing information supporting manuals and training materials. Review all training materials developed by the Instructional System Designers (ISDs). Support team meetings and provide technical guidance. Work in a fast, dynamic environment. Qualifications: Required: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience. Expertise with Microsoft Products. Prior experience managing a training team responsible for developing curriculum content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Desired: Secret-level security clearance. (US Citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance from the DoD). Prior experience developing content for Sailor 2025 RRL projects. - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
