The TFP Engineer acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) concerning the analysis of current and historical data from multiple Surface Warfare enterprise maintenance databases and technical SMEs to develop long term depot maintenance resource requirements for the expected service life of each class of Surface Navy ships. Work product supports the creation of class specific Technical Foundation Papers and Requirements White Papers, with the overall goal of ensuring ships reach the expected service life. We're seeking a Life Cycle Engineer to join our thriving practice where you will: • Access and collect unfiltered data to determine execution costs for specific repairs of equipment in depot level availabilities, along with utilizing EXCEL-based database software applications to create and analyze data tables and charts.
• Liaison with technical stakeholders of Surface Ship Classes (NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders, Ship Design Managers, In-Service Engineering Agents) to request information in support of determining depot maintenance requirements and strategies. • Interface with Type Commander and Regional Maintenance Center maintenance staff, as well as other maintenance stakeholders, to obtain maintenance execution and material condition data of Surface Navy vessels for evaluation of future depot maintenance needs.
• Identify and create life cycle execution strategies for depot level overhauls across ship's expected service-life, while conducting maintenance execution history analysis of shipboard systems and equipment maintenance history data to determine life cycle costs and maintenance periodicities. Analyze data to illustrate trends in cost, maintenance, and reliability.
• Prepare briefs and reports outlining current, historical, and forecasted repair costs and repair execution strategies for all types of depot level overhauls.
• Prepare and manage planning and resourcing exhibits which underlie the workload cost of requirements being programmed for execution.
• Conduct risk analysis feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate and determine practicability and adaptability of proposed solutions; subsequently determines and evaluates efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure satisfactory progress and fulfillment of requirements.
• Perform detailed industrial analyses to ensure that the maintenance requirements are executable within the constraints of the Fleet Response Plan (FRP) and the industrial base of each port.
• Assist in the development of other products as may be required to support requirements development efforts. Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in applied sciences or engineering.
• 5-years of related engineering experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an applicant may possess a HS diploma with 9 years of in-depth experience in the applied sciences or engineering field.
• Proficiency with database analysis and maintenance, statistical analysis methodology, including Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
