Job description

Duties As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: - Serve as a senior technical specialist in quantitative and qualitative intelligence analysis, research methodologies and structured analytic technique. - Review and recommend substantive changes to draft finished intelligence products and briefs to determine of proper sourcing, logical argumentation, communication of analytic judgments, assumptions and sound interpretation of all-source raw threat data and information. - Develop and oversee processes, procedures, policies and performance expectations that foster robust collaboration and effective work practices across the analytic mission to optimize performance. - Advise the Chief for Analysis on effectively establishing an Analytic Tradecraft Cell, post-publication Quality Evaluation Program, and product Review Capability. - Advise the Chief for Analysis on effectively developing a robust data analytics capability to complement its threat analysis mission by exploiting large volumes and varieties of data and information. - Assemble collaborative teams to examine highly complex analytic and production efforts as well as review and assess draft finished intelligence products for technical accuracy in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives 203, 205, 206 and 208. - Work with supervisors and analysts to correlate and convert information into understandable form for use in finished intelligence products as well as distribution in agency finished intelligence products and briefings. - Review draft analytic products, make necessary suggestions, and participate in the full analytic process. - The incumbent is responsible for making recommendations for analyst training and development as well as servers as a mentor and coach. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes: extensive knowledge of the organization and functional interrelationships of the Intelligence Community (IC) and how best to tap available resources; possessing advanced knowledge of IC Analytic Integrity Standards, including logical argumentation, relevance to customers, application of structured analytic techniques and application of IC research methodologies; and demonstrating professional knowledge of political and economic methodologies of foreign adversaries in acquiring sensitive or classified information and technology, classified technologies and program data in cleared industry. Research - Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results. Teaching Others - Helps others learn through formal or informal methods; identifies training needs; provides constructive feedback; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
