Deployment Specialist

Reston, VA

TS/SCI Required

We are looking for someone who likes to be on the go to work as a member of the Site Deployment team responsible for the execution of workstation installations. Active Top Secret SCI clearance required!

Job Responsibilities

  • Experience with cross connecting LAN cabling in wiring closets and at desktops in an orderly manner
    Experience with deploying workstations in office spaces where working under desks to route and connect cables is necessary
    Experience with customer service as it relates to deploying workstations in occupied office spaces
    Experience configuring the workstation BIOS
    Understanding of network cable types cat 5, cat 6 (copper) and optical cable types LC, SC
    Understanding of workstation video and USB connector types and converters
    Understanding of TEMPEST guidelines as they apply to desktop systems
    Ability to execute work with precision in time sensitive outage scenarios
    Effectively communicate status changes to impact
    Flexible schedule to support requirements as assigned

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Implements and maintains a tracking method of the inventory for overhead (OH) equipment, government furnished equipment (GFE), and customer furnished equipment (CFE) for ASM and its various contracts, and follows proper procedures for compliance reporting and disposal.
    Investigates root causes of issues related to security and software updates. Makes recommendations to improve future deployments.
    Deploys new computer equipment to end users. Reclaims and processes old hardware equipment and peripherals as required. Ensures all equipment is properly assigned in the inventory system and works with end users to secure the return of equipment upon termination.
    Responsible for IT tickets related to PLAID issues and works with users to ensure issues are resolved.
    Maintains compliance with policies, processes and procedures governing team deliveries.
    Monitors spare part availability, repair turnaround and inventory levels and proposes ways to streamline tracking and storing of equipment.
    Provides backup purchasing and receiving support of IT equipment, software, and systems to support the organization.
    Creates multi-platform software packages for deployment to end user systems of internally developed or 3rd party products and maintains the package deployment platform.
    Creates multi-platform machine images for deployment to end user systems and maintains the machine imaging and deployment platform.
    Travel Required: 75%

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field preferred.
1-2+ years' experience as a Desktop Support Technician providing support for the implementation and maintenance of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.
