Network Engineer duties and responsibilities. Network Engineer supports and develops the networks used by organizations. They work closely with department heads and IT staff to create and implement computer networks. Create code for new or existing networks. They may also be responsible for creating instruction manuals to help employees use the network and solve common problems. Cloud Engineering Team Support • The Candidate shall manage virtual and physical servers on a virtualization platform (VMware) with Windows Server , Ubuntu, CentOS, and Ubuntu operating systems. • The Candidate shall ensure the security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. • The Candidate shall use a proactive approach to anticipating, mitigating, identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting hardware and software issues on servers and workstations. Maintain computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware. 2. Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks, such as TCP/IP installing and configuring network equipment. 3. Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected. 4. Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems. 5. Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management. 6. Implementing disaster recovery procedures. 7. Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems. 8. Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently. 9. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation. Optional Requirements: 1. Demonstrated experience in system administration. 2. System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields 3. Demonstrated experience with Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies like OpenVPN, Wireguard, and IPSec. 4. Demonstrated experience with virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent. 5. Demonstrated experience with scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
