The software advises the US Government on the development of advanced fielded embedded systems, the development and support of client/server applications to disseminate and display information from the fielded systems, and provide worldwide reliable communications through the development of protocols and messaging standards. This opportunity requires a systems-based approach to architect, develop, and support a wide range of software applications with various real time constraints; on various computing platforms. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Spend 75% of your time supporting the development of DoD/IC software systems through providing advisory support, testing support, and operations support to fielded software systems with high-impact operations.
• Dedicate 25% of your time to Velox's IR&D, developing software for new prototype systems, across a range of commercial and government/military applications DAY TO DAY:
• Develop new software tools in support of the customer's mission.
• Support sensor system design and fielding, special communications, and C2.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to monitor the technical progress of performing companies, to inform the US Government on technical progress, risks, and improvements.
• Practice and improve on agile development methodologies and tools. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technology field. • 4+ years of professional or project experience in software development, technology, and/or science • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Clearance: Active TS/SCI CI Poly BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technology field. • Full-stack experience creating and managing RESTful APIs.
• Product development experience with Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Matlab.
• Software integration into one or more of the following types of systems: Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Electro-Optical (EO), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Data.
• Project related experience with Leaflet, OpenLayers, Cesium, ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, STK, SIMDIS, Global Mapper, ENVI, QT Modeler and/or SocetGXP.
