The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Carrier Payables Sr. Associate to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

Process Oversight: Lead and manage the full-cycle AP process, including payment disbursement and reconciliation.

Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.

Compliance and Risk Management: Uphold company policies, monitor AP operations for compliance with legal requirements and company standards, and proactively address risks.

Training and Development: Conduct training sessions and serve as a mentor for AP associates. Ensure team members understand and follow company procedures, maintain high standards of accuracy, and improve processing efficiency.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to streamline AP functions.

Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end close processes and assist in creating reports for financial planning and analysis.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the insurance industry or a similarly regulated sector.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to train, mentor, and guide AP team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Attention to Detail: High standard for accuracy, with the ability to handle complex AP tasks and ensure all transactions meet regulatory requirements.

Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills to assess financial information, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to both executive leaders and team members.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in AP software and ERP systems; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
