We currently have an opportunity for a Process Improvement Manager located at our Facility in Richmond, VA at the Bellwood Plant.

Your Role:

The Process Improvement Manager role is responsible for leading the process improvement activities for the facility and will plan, coordinate, and execute process improvement activities. This position will provide technical problem-solving skills and direction to drive continuous improvement and solve chronic process and equipment issues. The role is responsible for creating, updating, and supporting the training of standardized work processes of current and future expansion. You will ensure processes are running smoothly and efficiently within the facility. We embrace and accept individual experiences and backgrounds to achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide "Hands on" technical problem-solving skills and direction to drive continuous improvement and solve chronic process and equipment issues.
  • Insure process stability/capability and drive process improvement through DOE, SOC, and standard work adherence.
  • Prioritize and implement improvement initiatives in productivity, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Support the Lean Manufacturing philosophy and use of Lean tools such as quick changeover (SMED), SWIS, TPM, etc.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and manage group supporting process improvement, graphics, and new products as it relates to local production.
  • Interact closely with the Production and Maintenance groups to assist in implementation and scale up of new processes.
  • Provide analytical problem-solving skills, teamwork, communications, organization/prioritization, time management, initiative, innovation, and attention to detail.
  • Work directly with corporate OPEX team and the Sales/Marketing group.

We need you to have:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or other applicable education.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of process-related standards.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (Root Cause analysis techniques required).
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, CAD software, and SAP.

Icing on the cake:

  • 2-4 years of practical work experience in Printing, Packaging, Nylon Film, Blown Film Extrusion, or Film Converting.
  • 5S and Lean experience.
  • Experience training employees at all levels.
