If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our team located in Richmond, VA at the Bellwood Plant.
Your Role:
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for providing internal and external technical expertise for all phases of product and process development and testing from concept to commercialization. You will have the opportunity to:
- Put safety first, always.
- Provide internal and external technical expertise for all phases of product and process development and testing from concept to commercialization.
- Support cost reduction and quality assurance efforts and projects.
- Test internal and competitive product samples, including the development of testing methods and protocols.
- Work directly with lab technicians to ensure integrity of test procedures and data.
- Assist Operations, Quality, Consumer Response, Sales, Marketing, and Legal teams with audits, product issues, and market comparisons.
- Assist with development and authoring of product specifications.
- In locations where applicable, assist in development programs and practices to ensure compliance with Safe Quality Products (SQP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Occasional travel is required, with short notice.

We need you to have:
- BS degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging Technology, or related technical field of study.
- 3+ years of related engineering experience in the consumer products and/or food packaging industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.
- Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- General working knowledge of metals, polymers, paper, adhesives, inks, and coatings used in food packaging products.
- Proficient with physical/mechanical properties measurement and lab equipment.
- Proficient in MS Office, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines, occasionally in manufacturing environments and during off-hours.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities and customers.
- Ability to travel (5%).
