Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team of highly skilled, dedicated, and motivated cleared professionals supporting the Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. The program provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally. The Data Engineer will be a member of the CAEIO Engineering Team that develops and manages technical, business, and executive dashboards supporting the CA mission. The Data Engineer will work closely with other CAEIO team members, application/system owners, and Government Leadership to ensure Consular Affairs mission success. Responsibilities Perform and display statistical analysis of system data to support end users and clients.
Become expert in data warehouse and company data sources.
In support of dashboards, manage databases to ensure data integrity, security, and performance optimization.
Work with visualization of data via dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Tableau, PowerBI, and other tools.
Develop and deploy SQL procedures and aggregation processes.
Develop, optimize, and maintain efficient and scalable ETL processes to transform data for use in technical, business, and executive dashboards.
Work closely with applications owners, government leadership, program management and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
Manage data engineering documentation changes using approved platforms including Confluence, Jira, and SNOW.
Support pilot initiatives that facilitate data-driven decision making related to delivery of internal and external services.Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM ET - 3:30 PM ET (Flexible) Work Location: This position is hybrid with remote work and one day each week (Wednesday) in the Peraton office in Sterling, VA. Qualifications Basic Qualifications U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance with ability to obtain TOP SECRET Government Security Clearance. 3-5 years of relevant data engineering or related field.
Must have hands-on proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, C++ or similar.
Hands-on experience in html pages and javascript scripting.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Experience designing data pipelines, managing databases, writing efficient code for data processing, and automating tasks.Desired Qualifications Advanced programming skills in multiple languages.
5+ years of data engineering experience.
Experience with Oracle databases and cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
Vendor certifications and/or Industry relevant certifications in Data Engineering or Security.
Experience with Department of State.Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum of 12 years with HS diploma; Minimum of 10 years with AS; Minimum 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
