Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to assist for several weeks while our current Staff Account is out on leave. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential in supporting the overall financial health of the organization and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Handling of Payroll - must have payroll experience, specifically using the "Paychex" platform.
  • Hours entry into Excel and the Paychex system.
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation to verify bank transactions against company records.
  • Record journal entries accurately and timely to reflect all financial transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • Proven experience in account reconciliation, financial report writing, and bank reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries, financial accounting principles, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex financial information clearly.
