Description & Requirements Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Communications (COMMs) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in the Virginia Beach. This is an onsite position. Summary: The candidate will support teams performing installs, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, and the tests of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices. Thecandidate will apply their technical knowledge to assist junior team members with the completion of assignedtasking. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support team members and perform required communication equipment integration or installation of communication systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as required Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployed Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team Performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems Analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment Perform work between customer sites, shore sites, and/or on ships Basic Qualifications: Associate's degree in related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience required Technical experience with AC/DC circuits as it pertains to the installation of communications electronic equipment Experience with HF/VHF/UHF installation/troubleshooting Experience with RF Connectors Basic knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Optical analyzers, power meters, bench power supplies, multimeters, etc. Familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locations Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS as needed up to 50% Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ANY of the following radio systems: (KOR 24A, PRC 117 series, Vortex, ARC-231 a plus), SATCOM equipment, radio networks (HPW, Link-11, Link -16, BFT/FBCB2), cryptographic equipment, keying data transfer devices (DTD's), RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers), basic electronic principles, a firm knowledge of networking equipment, IP networking and sub-netting Experience with JIRA/Confluence NAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic Termination Tower Climber Certified Ability to work individually and as part of a team, both internally and with external resources Clearance Requirements: Must be US Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance Must be eligible to obtain a CAC card Physical Requirements: Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 Lbs Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% Be able to ascend and descend ladders as required for installations Must be able to position oneself to install communications systems, server racks, or potentially running transmission lines as required.
