Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) has an opening for a Lead Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Operator/Drafter IV to support the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This position under the C5ISC Engineering Services Division Technical Services Branch (ESD-TECH) will lead a small team of CADD operators to support the C5ISC Product Lines and ESD System Engineers by developing technical drawings and graphics and help maintain standard document formatting for various C5I systems and software. Responsibilities Efficiently manage projects/tasks and to ensure timely production of deliverables while maintaining the absolute highest quality of services, products, and customer service.
Provides CADD Services to update and/or create Technical Drawings, Graphics, and other Official Business Documentation (i.e., Organizational and Project Management Charts) upon Government request through the Remedy CGFIXIT Tool.
Maintains assigned tasks within the CGFIXIT Tool.
Incorporates red line drawing updates and corrections into existing AutoCAD formatted interconnection drawings, or develop new drawings as needed, to reflect all equipment changes, system modifications, or corrections and reflect current electronic drafting standards and formats. Shall work with Product Line / ESD project/task sponsors/teams to ensure all information (equipment installed, system configuration, etc.) is up to date.
Supports Product Line and ESD engineering services within the scope of CADD services. This includes but is not limited to attending meetings and providing input/direction to program/project managers in regard to assigned tasks. Travels to various CONUS/OCONUS locations in support of the C5I systems, as needed. Visits shall be used to conduct on-site evaluations of asset configuration and incorporate that information into Technical Drawings and Graphics. Qualifications Shall be proficient and qualified to develop, format, proof, edit/revise, produce, and publish CADD drawings.
Must possess a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Must possess proficient writing skills.
Must have and maintain a U.S. government SECRET security clearance.
Shall have at least 2 years of experience in the submission of USCG technical drawings to CGLIMS-STIP.
Shall have at least 5 years of supervisory experience managing/leading at least one CADD operator.
Shall have at least 4 years of drafting experience to include layouts, illustrations, wiring diagrams, and fabrication drawings (i.e., electrical, machine, and sheet metal/ship drawings).
Shall be a graduate of an Accredited Drafting Program or have completed a CADD program from an accredited school/university. This requirement may be fulfilled by meeting all of the following exceptions: At least 10 years of leadership experience as a CADD operator, and at least 5 years of CADD experience in the submission of USCG technical drawings to Surface Technical Information Portal.
