We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level Quality Specialist to support full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels/vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft/vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels/vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Virginia Beach, VA JOB STATUS: FT TRAVEL: 0% REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Successful candidates will demonstrate Five (5) years of full-time professional experience as a Quality Control Specialist supporting mechanical and electrical systems, particularly in a maritime environment High school Diploma, related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate or GED equivalent required. Current Secret Clearance DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Successful candidates will demonstrate: The ability to solve technical problems Training in the skills and techniques related to engineering quality control Practical understanding of engineering concepts to ensure products and processes meet quality and safety standards. Ability to operate and test equipment to make sure that processes operate effectively and safely. Ability to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the quality review of design and test articles Ability to work independently and as part of a team under project deadlines. Experience supporting quality control plans in a dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES The SPECIALIST, QUALITY CONTROL III will support all work performed under contract by ensuring compliance with a formal and documented Quality Program Plan. The Quality Control Specialist will perform reviews for quality on technical design packages and document review results for each design using approved Technical Documentation Review and Approval Processes for guidance.
