Summary:

Assist the Portfolio Manager with the daily operations of the Mortgage/Collections Department and collect on delinquent accounts to limit collection portfolio losses and delinquencies. Potential bonus incentive for meeting monthly collection goals. Follows directions from the Portfolio Manager and ensures attainment of the Collection Department's goals and objectives while performing the following duties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Calls past due mortgage accountholders in a consistent and effective way, obtaining payments to bring the accounts' status to current
• Maintains accurate records, including paperwork for lenders
• Reduces delinquency, working toward team goals
• Must be able to work well with others
• Committed to providing excellent customer service being both knowledgeable and courteous when speaking with customers
• Perform any related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in mortgage collections
• Proficient knowledge of basic computer skills is required. Software utilized include SPI Timeshare Software and the Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook
• Must also possess general knowledge of office equipment (computers, copy machines, fax machines, postage machine, etc.)
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
• Mastery of basic math skills is mandatory
• Must be able to adapt and perform in pressure situations, as well as execute a variety of tasks as assigned or as situations dictate

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties of this Job, the employee is commonly required to stand, talk and hear. Additionally, employees in this position are frequently required to walk; use hands to lift, place, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel and crouch when filing. Employees must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Lifting items over 25 pounds will be done with equipment or two or more employees.
