Job description

We seek candidates for a 3MC Assistant position in our Wallops Island, Virginia, office. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA, requires management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise for the activation, operations, maintenance, and engineering of equipment, systems, and computer programs in support of all NAVSEA and PEO IWS missions. The SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate, and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The 3MC Assistant will have adequate experience and training to perform the duties listed below effectively: Ability to implement, evaluate, and coordinate the unit's planned maintenance system (PMS).
Assist in operating and managing the Maintenance Data Systems (MDS).
Review MDS submissions for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. This duty includes ensuring that all required 3M submissions are made and that the 3M data returned for correction is promptly revised and resubmitted.
Ensure the 3M system is kept current and any revisions are promptly distributed.
Maintain a file of 3M system directives, newsletters, notes, and correspondence containing current 3M program information. Ensure distribution to work center personnel.
Coordinate, monitor, and supervise automated systems relative to maintenance. The 3MC Assistant will support the 3M Coordinator as the SCSC NTCSS Administrator and the Organizational Maintenance Management System-Next Generation (OMMS-NG) Functional Area Supervisor (FAS).
Screen MDS documents for completeness.
Ensure timely processing of Automated Shore Interface configuration and logistics data.
Ensure timely up-line reporting of maintenance actions and equipment file corrections.
Ensure the PMS covers all equipment in the work center. Compare the documentation with the actual equipment configuration to maintain an accurate and current LOEP. Submit a PMS FBR when changes to the LOEP are required. Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required High school diploma or GED.
At least 10 years' accumulative experience in performing 3MC, 3MA, or departmental 3MA duties onboard a naval vessel and shore duty.
Seven years' experience implementing, evaluating, and coordinating the unit's planned maintenance systems (PMS) and operation and effectively managing the MDS.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule personnel to support maintenance tasks across mission facilities and make recommendations for troubleshooting, workarounds, or corrective action.
Experience as an NTCSS administrator and the OMMS Functional Area Supervisor. Qualifications Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired. However, candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations.
Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor and/or manager when not in the office. Physical Requirements Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
Sitting for long periods, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
