As an Adult Protective Services Specialist with the Winchester Department of Social Services, you will the opportunity to ensure adults over 60 and adults over 18 who are incapacitated can live free of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Are organized and able to keep up with documentation and paperwork Duties and Responsibilities: Assess for adult safety and risk by completing investigations Develop plans to provide the appropriate level of care and maximize self-sufficiency Schedule and attend home visits in order to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults Assess for service needs, coordinate referrals, and encourage participation in services to foster greater independence and provide support for caregivers Prepare court reports, affidavits and testify in court Complete required documentation in a timely manner, in accordance with state and local policy Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, or a Bachelor's Degree in any field with two years of related experience in Social Work Within 90 days of employment, you must have a driving commute within a one-hour timeframe of the City of Winchester limits The City of Winchester is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law.
