Position Title: Construction Estimator

Position Description
Starting Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 - depending on experience
Location: Everett, WA
Classification: Exempt

General Position Summary:
Bid and budget all Industrial Piping, Equipment, Structural, Civil works, HVAC/Air Systems and complex mechanical systems. Coordinate activities from receipt of plans to bid or proposal.
Essential Job Functions:
- Know and Understand Union Trade agreements that will be associated with each estimate
- Participate in bid activities including specialty quotes, equipment pricing and subcontractors.
- Generate Subcontractor and Vendor request for bid and call to confirm bid coverage.
- Review specifications and drawings prior to take offs.
- Complete all estimating forms as required to prepare a complete estimate to a Recap
- Update current pricing and labor in the estimating program on a regular basis.
Position Requirements
Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
- Technical knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods and how the construction industry operates.
- Basic knowledge of construction accounting.
- Experience with reading construction drawing and specifications.
- Detailed understanding of piping and or sheet metal systems estimating.
- Ability to layout plumbing, piping and or sheet metal systems and have a working understanding of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
- Willing to work effectively with other employees as a team member.
- Ability to use and interact with spreadsheets such as excel at a moderate level (input, data manipulation, basic programming).
Supervisory Responsibility :
- Manager appointed PE's and PC's for the duration of the estimates
Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
- College degree or equivalent field experience.
- 5 years of estimating experience in Industrial/Mechanical
- Advanced skills in computer
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:
- Maintain a valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record.
