Job Purpose

Develop, implement, and maintain the preventive maintenance program and schedule. Partner with the Maintenance team to plan, coordinate, and schedule proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Develop, implement, and maintain the preventive maintenance program and lubrication program including all necessary processes and documentation

• Provide metric calculation and reporting

• Fully utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Process and prioritize work orders; examine and determine best approach for work order completion including obtaining necessary documents and checking parts availability

• Help develop job plans to ensure standard work procedures are followed and consistency between mechanics is maintained

• Partner with maintenance management and purchasing to manage spare parts inventory for production lines and building/facility maintenance assets

• Provide leadership in proactive manufacturing principles and implementation including lean, TPM, RCM, etc.

• Maintain maintenance supplies by ordering, tracking, and placing purchase orders and properly coding to correct GL codes

• Record and maintain inventory of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed in the CMMS

• Perform recordkeeping, filing, cycle counting, and year-end inventory audits

• Coordinate stocking of spare parts in parts room

• Assist with other maintenance initiatives as needed

• Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school program completion preferred

• 3+ years of maintenance experience

• Maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

• CMMS experience and overall computer proficiency

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices, planning methods and tools including planning and scheduling software

• Knowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment, material and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrument equipment used in manufacturing and distribution facilities

• Ability to create programs and procedures from scratch with limited direction

• Strong communication skills including the ability to listen, explain, and facilitate; ask for input; accept suggestions; and work with others to solve problems

• Ability to maintain attention to detail, demonstrate flexibility, create structure, and follow through amid interruptions and changing priorities

• Ability to set priorities, work independently, mentor, coach, and coordinate multiple projects utilizing available resources
