We are seeking a Senior NEPA Practitioner to join our team in Seattle, WA to support NEPA for clean energy projects in the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub (PNWH2).
The ideal candidate for this position will apply their knowledge of NEPA processes and state and federal regulatory processes to manage and contribute to our PNWH2 projects. The candidate will assist or coordinate the preparation of all levels of DOE NEPA documents and technical studies and provide quality assurance/quality control of NEPA and planning documents prepared by in-house staff or outside consultants. The candidate also will coordinate with resource and environmental permitting agencies, local stakeholders, and members of the public.
The preferred candidate will have familiarity with the DOE NEPA process, including the preparation of Environmental Information Volumes (EIVs), strong task management skills, effective communication skills, and be able to work successfully in both collaborative and self-directed settings. The preferred candidate will have experience with DOE NEPA processes and clean energy initiatives. Experience with Washington, Oregon, and Montana state review processes for energy projects is desirable.

How will you contribute to the team?
- Prepare and review of NEPA and planning documents and oversight of documents prepared by other staff and consultants;
- Coordinate in-house technical tasks for compliance with baseline schedules;
- Evaluate impacts for proposed Hydrogen Hub projects on the built, cultural and natural environment;
- Coordinate with design professionals and overall project team to identify fatal flaws, schedule delays, opportunities for schedule acceleration or recovery, and opportunities to avoid or minimize impacts;
- Participate in weekly meetings with the PNWH2 Project Management team, US DOE, and Hydrogen Hub project representatives.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Sciences or a related field, Master's degree is a plus.
- 8-10 years of experience with a demonstrated working knowledge of NEPA, including coordination of supporting technical studies and schedule management;
- Similar environmental consultation experience related to federal facility projects with DOE (including projects with federal funding) preferred.
- Aptitude for maintaining a professional attitude and attention to detail while working alone, within a team environment, and/or on multiple projects simultaneously;
- Excellent technical writing, computer, and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues;
- Strong organizational, task and time management skills and deductive reasoning and analytical skills;
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite of software, and familiarity with schedule management software
- Ability to travel and visit project sites if necessary.
- Local candidates are preferred for this position.
- Eligible candidates must have a valid driver's license.

Expected compensation range is between $95,000 - $140,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
