Volt is immediately hiring for a Writer Editor in Seattle, WA.
Position Type: Full time contract

As a Writer Editor, you will
Description:
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Determines approaches to content structure and design.
  • Defines content organization, nomenclature, and navigation systems for multifaceted projects.
  • Resolves issues regarding regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Provides expertise related to emerging trends and technology in the writing industry.
  • Quality is working to update the format of our process and procedures to enhance the readability and comprehension of our documents across all levels of the company.
  • The individual assigned to this task will help support analysis of the current reading level of the document, suggestions on revisions and changes to lower that level to make things easier to understand.
  • The goal and strategy will be to simplify the document through robust, clear requirements using tables, images, and figures to help with the reader's comprehension.
  • There are several documents in the focus group to start, which is specific to stamping compliance, but the project state will expand to all commercial documentation over the next few years.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer, with a portfolio that can be shared of previous work.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience process flows and incorporating other multimedia content into writings.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise documentation.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as MS Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe.
  • Familiarity with aerospace and/or manufacturing processes, including AS9100

Job Preferences
  • Experience AI tools and automation, such as Chat GPT.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously with technical requirements
  • Certification in technical writing (e.g., from the Society for Technical Communication).

Pay Range : $54.00 to $64.00 per hour.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
