Pullman Regional Hospital in Pullman, Washington is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide culturally affirming mental health services for Sports Medicine and Washington State University student-athletes. This role includes individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and outreach tailored to the unique needs of a diverse student-athlete population. The counselor will also contribute to training programs that include practicum counselors, an American Psychological Association accredited doctoral internship and post-doctoral psychology residents and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within WSU Athletics.

Pay Range: $68,036.00 - $102,190.00 Annually. Full time. Salary based on experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions:
Provide brief, focused counseling services and crisis intervention.
Work with high-risk individuals (e.g., suicide, eating disorders, PTSD).
Serve diverse student populations, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and international students.
Build collaborative relationships within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Qualifications:
Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field, or Doctorate in Psychology.
Bachelors degree and three years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience.
A Masters degree in related field may substitute for one year of professional work experience.
Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
License eligible in Washington State.

Essential Experience

Experience leading or directing the work of others.
Experience working with student-athletes and diverse populations.
Demonstrated experience working with student athletes, in clinical work and in outreach/other programming.
Knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the NCAA, and able to quickly learn and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Division 1 Conference and WSU.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in high-profile intercollegiate athletics settings.
Expertise in areas like eating disorders and substance abuse.
Experience facilitating psychotherapy groups and outreach programs.
