Position Overview The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is undertaking a critical project to relocate and upgrade its Traffic Management System (TMS) and traffic light network. This project involves transitioning the TMS infrastructure from its current location at the Reeves Center to a new facility at 60 Florida Ave., which will be dual-homed in a city-wide data center managed by the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) for enhanced redundancy and resilience. The overarching goal is to ensure that DDOT's 1600+ signals and devices dispersed throughout the city remain operational and capable of adapting to future technological advancements. This large-scale relocation aims to increase network security, enhance system uptime, and provide scalability for future growth. The SharePoint Developer/Administrator will play a vital role in supporting this transition by streamlining documentation processes, managing access controls, and optimizing collaborative workflows for DDOT's teams. This role directly supports operational efficiency and ensures that critical documentation remains accessible and secure as DDOT relocates and enhances its TMS. The position is crucial in maintaining continuity and supporting the organizational changes that accompany the project's goals. The SharePoint Developer/Administrator is tasked with designing, maintaining, and enhancing SharePoint-based solutions to optimize DDOT's documentation management and collaborative processes. This role is integral to ensuring that DDOT's operational workflows are efficient and that document management is both accessible and secure. As the SharePoint Developer/Administrator, you will handle user access permissions, manage content structures, and streamline workflows. An emphasis is placed on automating document processes and creating a user-friendly digital environment for DDOT staff. A successful candidate will bring strong technical skills, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to troubleshoot and support end-users in a SharePoint environment. Essential Job Function Design and develop SharePoint sites that facilitate DDOT's documentation and collaboration needs, ensuring that site structures are organized and user-friendly. Manage and configure SharePoint permissions and security settings, maintaining compliance with city data policies and ensuring secure access control. Automate document management workflows using SharePoint features and Power Automate to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes. Provide technical support and training to end-users, addressing issues, answering questions, and guiding users in the optimal use of SharePoint functionalities. Create documentation and guidelines for end-users and stakeholders, detailing processes, best practices, and troubleshooting steps for SharePoint utilization. Regularly monitor SharePoint performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement, implement upgrades, and optimize the system for better functionality. Collaborate with IT and data security teams to ensure SharePoint configurations align with DDOT's cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements. Stay informed about updates in SharePoint and Office 365 to incorporate new features and functionalities that may enhance DDOT's collaborative environment. Minimum Qualifications 4-6 years of experience in SharePoint development and administration. Demonstrated expertise in managing large SharePoint environments and configuring user permissions effectively. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field. Desired Qualifications Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate is beneficial. Experience in workflow automation within SharePoint, including use of Power Automate or similar tools. Knowledge of integrating SharePoint with other Office 365 applications, such as Teams, to enhance collaborative workflows. Background in working within government or public sector environments where data security and compliance are prioritized. Proficiency in troubleshooting SharePoint permissions and providing advanced user support in large-scale settings.
