If you have a passion for working in the healthcare field and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, we offer a Nursing Assistant Certification Program as a full-time employee. We are currently hiring and training staff to become part of our NAC team! At Yakima Valley School, these positions are under the title, Attendant Counselor, and function as an NAC. We have career opportunities for Certified Nursing Assistants at Yakima Valley School. You'll interact with clients in a residential living atmosphere, providing care and engaging in therapeutic activities on and off campus. You'll partner with residents and their family members, providing choices in all areas of their lives. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Some of what you'll do Actively participate in the daily lives of the clients and residents we care for Provide direct care and active engagement designed to maximize independent living skills Teach and assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, leisure skills, community awareness, safety, and routine household responsibilities Participate in activities of daily living, physical, social, and habilitative skill development while providing choices for self-determination to the best of the resident's abilities Transport and escort residents to and from various recreational activities and health appointments Aid in the implementation of Health Services Orders supporting residents through a planned daily schedule of learning new skills, becoming more independent, maintaining their health, and overall functioning, improving social behaviors, and attending work and school Provide personal care for both genders Provide safe and protective interventions in the presence of challenging behaviors Observe, document, and report physical, medical, and behavioral changes in residents Assist with medical and behavioral emergencies, providing health, safety, security, and protection from abuse and or neglect What we are looking for: Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) who like to have fun and engage in resident's daily activities OR Registered Nursing Assistants with a Certificate of Completion and eligible to test for certification and One year of related experience or high school completion or equivalent. OR Individuals who are interested in full-time employment while becoming a Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) under the current CFR 483.35 (d), 1135 Waiver and have one year of related experience or a high school diploma or equivalent.
