Job description
As an SSD Client Service Specialist, you will perform a variety of SSD administrative tasks. You will support the SSD team by screening and onboarding new clients. Many of our clients are experiencing very tough challenges due to the nature of their condition and/or factors related to finances, relationships, or other reasons. Much of this role requires the ability to demonstrate patience and grace, always willing to go the extra mile for a potential or new client. The successful candidate has a passion for Social Security Disability law which can look like repeated follow up calls to clients, active listening skills, and desire to help create a pleasant workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct initial consultations.
- Communicate with clients and obtain intake information.
- Draft, obtain signatures, and setup client matters.
- Draft and send correspondence to potential and new clients.
- Schedule client calls with paralegal and attorney.
- Reminder calls to clients of important dates and appointments.
- Communicate with SSA field and hearing offices.
- Process incoming mail.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma or GED required, college graduate with bachelor's degree preferred; 2+ years of Paralegal experience (SSD knowledge preferred). Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to talk. Listen and speak clearly on the phone and through written communications. Computer proficiency (MS-Office- Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadline, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions give, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

Wage: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.
