Duties This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181,216.00 (GS-14 Step 10). The Intelligence Research Specialist in this position has program planning, direction, or evaluation responsibilities for the research or collection operations of a major geographical area of a functional program with world-wide implications; and they also serve as Government-wide experts in broad fields of research or operation. Major Duties include but are not limited to: Applying a full range of analytical processes and tradecraft to provide and oversee finished intelligence products in support of operations. Guiding and usage of Structure Analytic Techniques (SATs) and analytic tradecraft to address unusual problems, which do not appear to be susceptible to treatment by accepted methods. Ensuring that the appropriate intelligence disciplines and methodologies are identified and applied to exploitation of information from a variety of sources to generate intelligence products that reveal the following: potential threat identities, associations, and travel/movements; organizational composition, tactics, techniques, and procedures; and threat activities, chronologies, capabilities, resources, and patterns. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing new curriculum while maintaining subject matter expertise in IC and DHS databases, threats, and the latest best practices for existing instruction. Researching, analyzing, assimilating, evaluating, coordinating, and incorporating intelligence information into curriculum materials, practical exercises, and relevant case studies for effective training. Maintaining expertise in the latest training delivery methods, adult learning principals and best practices through continua training and learning methodologies for developing and delivering training programs and associated curriculum. Using comprehensive knowledge of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) Instructional Systems Design Model and its application. Training intelligence professional sin briefing principles and effective methods for conveying information and intelligence - within the CBP and DHS Intelligence Enterprise theories, principles, and practices of managing an organization to advise DHS executives on and to develop an effective program of key support processes, as well as to direct a diverse staff of administrative specialists. Applying subject matter expertise and employs law enforcement and intelligence systems exploitation to deliver intelligence instruction. Developing learning evaluation strategies that include a variety of testing instruments and practical application in a live environment.
