2nd shift hours are 2:15pm-1am M-TH

$19.50 starting pay, weekly overtime available

A material handler plays a vital role in ensuring our production lines are continuously stocked with needed raw materials and transporting materials and finished products throughout the facility using material handling equipment. This is a fast-paced position that will require the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Fifty percent of the time will be spent palletizing and wrapping pallets and the other fifty percent will be spent supplying the line with materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Locates materials and supplies by picking and verifying materials and supplies listed on the work order.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at the production line by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Receives return material and supplies from production by verifying material quantity; placing materials back in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by labeling, loading, pulling, and securing product.
  • Documents product quantity to be shipped by accurately recording cases on pallet sheet.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs.
  • Aware of operational environment to ensure safety for self and others at all times.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Operates and maintains various material handling equipment including forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks and utility carts.
  • Maintains organized, clean safe work area.
  • Working with RF Scanning equipment to maintain records of merchandise shipped, as well as examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Finished goods palletizing.
  • Performs additional duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic math skills, ability to count and weigh items
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time, 95% standing, lifting, walking, bending
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance
  • Ability to utilize pallet jack, manual and electric
  • Areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather
  • Provided PPE must be worn when required and safety precautions must be followed
Hours:
  • Hours are dependent on shift, 1st shift 5:15am-2:30pm or 3:30pm, 2nd shift 2:15pm-1am
  • Position requires ability to work overtime, varying start times and weekends dependent on business need
Education/Experience:
  • High School education or equivalent
  • 3-6 months related experience
  • Prior material handling or inventory experience preferred
