Job description

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse operations by ensuring efficient handling of shipments, inventory management, and accurate data entry. The role involves working closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials in and out of the warehouse. This position is key to maintaining organized and effective warehouse operations.Responsibilities / Tasks Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking incoming and outgoing stock. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records. Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies in inventory levels. Shipping and Receiving: Assist in receiving, verifying, and documenting incoming shipments. Ensure all received goods are properly labeled and stored. Prepare shipments by verifying quantities, packing items, and labeling packages. Data Entry: Input and update inventory data, shipment details, and other records into Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or other relevant databases. Ensure all records are maintained with accuracy and updated in a timely manner. Order Processing: Assist in preparing and processing orders for delivery or pickup. Verify customer orders, ensuring correct items and quantities are packed and shipped. Record-Keeping: Maintain both electronic and paper records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities. Ensure records are organized, complete, and compliant with company policies. Warehouse Organization: Help keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized by ensuring products are properly stored and labeled. Assist in maintaining an orderly workflow within the warehouse, ensuring that items are accessible and well-located. Communication and Coordination: Work closely with warehouse staff and other departments to coordinate inventory needs, shipments, and order fulfillment. Provide information and updates to supervisors and team members as needed. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Adhere to all warehouse procedures, including those related to the handling of materials and equipment. Your Profile / Qualifications Profile and Qualifications: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software. Proficiency with data entry and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word). Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills. Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand or walk for long periods. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
