Sr. Naval Engineering Manager Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 75% Type of Travel: Continental US What You'll Get to Do Senior Manager position will be responsible for change implementation, subcontractor management, and Class Design Services (CDS) within engineering. The position will report directly to the VP of Engineering and will work independently and with various assigned staff, depending on the project and tasking. This work will require extended initial travel. 2 to 3 weeks onsite in Wisconsin and back home for remote work for 1 week before resuming the onsite requirement. More About the Role: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Change implementation Once change is approved, coordination within engineering and production to ensure scheduling, resources, and production needs align. Monitor and improve processes associated with change implementation, including all aspects of engineering change once approved. Focus on large change management and coordination. Subcontractor management: Ultimate responsibility for subcontractor management, through schedule, resources, and quality. Included in this responsibility is coordination with subcontractors associated with production to ensure proper communication, scheduling and support from engineering. Identification and vetting of subcontractors to support work being completed within engineering. Class Design Services management: Managing and coordinating engineering efforts associated with US Navy class design services. This includes subcontractor support in these efforts. You'll Bring These Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum 15 years of shipyard experience, focused on engineering and production, or 20 years of similar experience in shipbuilding - required. Experience managing technical teams in engineering and production, with a track record of successful completion of work within budget and schedule - required. Familiarity with classification organization and maritime rule sets, foreign and domestic - required. Both defense and commercial shipbuilding experience - desired. Experience managing ship alterations - desired. These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have Bachelor's degree and a minimum 15 years of shipyard experience, focused on engineering and production, or 20 years of similar experience in shipbuilding - required.
