Description
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to determine scope of work
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Conduct quantity take-offs and develop accurate material lists
- Research and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within project plans
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to refine estimates
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations to clients
- Maintain up-to-date cost databases and estimating software
- Stay informed about market trends and pricing fluctuations in the construction industry
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Project Management preferred.
- 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction or with trades.
- Experience with preparing bids.
- Has hands-on experience estimating projects based off of blue prints.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ground-up commercial or industrial experience required.
