We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Engineer in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.

This is a job family (Engineer and Senior Engineer) posting where the experience of the selected candidate will determine the level offered.

Job Summary

Project Engineers are responsible for engineering assignments of moderate scope and complexity on a variety of projects and assignments in support of both field and staff roles. Travel to project sites will be required based on project scope.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage capital projects across our Power Generation Fleet territory. Collaborate with and manage contractors for project and labor needs.
  • Analysis and recommendations of design options, recommendations for structures, systems and components, preparation of engineering designs, material and constructions specifications and cost estimates, review of internal and external construction plans and implementation of construction activities for more complex projects.
  • Performs more complex engineering designs, engineering calculations and system modifications. Leads Root Cause Analysis activities.
  • Properly applies codes, standards and regulations to relevant tasks, designs and projects. Updates drawings and other engineering documentations and maintains corporate records by filing in accordance with business unit guidelines
  • Knowledgeable of design basis for system responsibilities. Understands and utilizes knowledge of interconnected systems to troubleshoot and improve performance. Utilizes performance monitoring/optimization tools, calculations, tests and engineering analysis to develop recommendations to maintain and improve plant, system and/or equipment performance, efficiency and reliability.
  • May review engineering designs, calculations and modifications of less experienced engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 2 + years relevant engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 + years of Project or Construction Management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
  • Strong analytical, project management, problem solving, and team building skills.
