Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates technical leadership to team.
- Establish MVP requirements.
- Recommends efficiencies to current established development and continuous integration practices.
- Leads work on enterprise data catalog, data validation, and data quality.
- Develops new APIs to integrate with Collibra as all data moves through the organization.
- Focus on creating embedded, and best practices for data movement/pipelines, governance, data classifications, and data transformation to codify.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues that may arise during the development and deployment of software projects.
- Work/review on code evaluation to ensure compliance with established coding standards and best practices.
- Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices within department.
- Utilizes working relationships across teams within their division.
- Assesses and provides solutions to system-wide architectural problems.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
- Proficiency in the tech stack
- Proficiency required in the tech stack of AWS, Glue, Lake formation, REST, Java, Node.js, Python, JSON, and preferably Collibra
- Demonstrated critical thinking, ownership mindset and continuous learning.
- Experience developing solutions using agile methods.
- Mentor for the team and department.
- Advanced skillset in one or more technical platforms.
- Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business.
- Manages own time to meet objectives.
- Ability to perform peer reviews on code and design.
- Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture.
Compensation Range:
Pay Range - Start:
$100,030.00
Pay Range - End:
$185,770.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
