This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finishing operations, including painting, edge banding, and preparation work such as sanding, & packaging to ensure high-quality finishes on wood products.
Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of finishing personnel.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
    • Train new team members on finishing techniques, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
  2. Painting and Staining:
    • Apply paint, stain, or other finishes to wood products using spray guns, brushes, or other application methods.
    • Ensure consistent application and coverage to achieve desired finish quality.
    • Monitor drying times and environmental conditions to optimize finish curing.
  3. Edge Banding:
    • Operate edge banding machinery both (automatic and manual) to apply edge tape or veneer to panel edges.
    • Adjust machine settings and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper operation.
    • Inspect finished edges for defects and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality.
  4. Preparation Work:
    • Perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, filling, and caulking to prepare wood surfaces for finishing.
    • Select appropriate sandpaper grits and techniques to achieve smooth surfaces and uniform finish adhesion.
    • Repair defects in wood surfaces prior to finishing, including dents, scratches, and imperfections.
  5. Quality Control:
    • Inspect finished products for defects in finish quality, color consistency, and adhesion.
    • Implement corrective actions to address any issues identified during inspection.
    • Document quality inspection results and maintain records of finished product specifications.
  6. Maintenance and Safety:
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on finishing equipment to keep it in optimal condition.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the finishing area.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
  7. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of finishing materials such as paint, stain, and edgebanding supplies.
    • Coordinate with purchasing or logistics departments to reorder materials as needed.
    • Minimize waste and optimize material usage to control costs.
  8. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in finishing operations
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, stain application, and edge banding processes.
  • Familiarity with wood or composite surface preparation methods and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret finishing specifications and color standards.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.


Pay Details: 22.00 to 27.00 per hour
