Core Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

1. General job duties:
Provide nursing support in radiology and interventional radiology. Radiology: monitoring patients, administering fluids, starting IVs, assisting with urgent/emergent situations (IE: contrast reactions, contrast infiltrations, diabetic symptoms, etc), prepping patients for imaging exams, administrating other medications (IE: Lasix for Nuc Med patients) and administering IV conscious sedation for MRI patients, inserting catheters for bladder studies. Interventional Radiology: caring for patients during IR procedures, including administering IV conscious sedation and documenting care in EMR
2. Equipment utilized
EPIC EMR, GE patient monitoring systems
3. Required skills/experience
Experience in cath lab and Interventional Radiology required. minimum 2 years preferred
4. Specific licensures/certifications
BLS, ACLS, WI RN License, Facility conscious sedation certification
5. Shift/schedule requirements
Varied shift start times during the day M-F (am, all shifts are currently 8 hours), call rotation overnight and weekends, holidays - number varies based on staffing pool. Currently averages one week night and every 4th weekend.
6. Number of patients in a day/support staff
Radiology nursing support needs vary each day, medical assistants do majority of patient prepping for imaging studies. Interventional Radiology is averaging 18-20 cases per day
7. Nurse to patient ratio
Case number and mix varies each day. Nurses are assigned cases throughout the day.
8. Dress code
Surgical scrubs provided by hospital
9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training & orientation
Will work directly with a radiology nurse for training. Will be assigned to preceptor to ensure all training needs are being met and orientation documentation is completed.
