Job description

Mariani Packing Company, the largest independent dried fruit processor and packer in the United States. We are located on the east side of Wisconsin Rapids, just off Hwy 54 and only 15 minutes from Plover.

Full-time Night shift positions are currently available in our food manufacturing plant working 12-hour shifts. Night shifts work 7pm to 7:15am. Employees work 3 days one week followed by 4 days the following week, so every other weekend is a 3-day weekend off! There is a $2.00 shift differential hours worked between 7:00pm - 7:00am. Prior forklift experience is beneficial but not required for some positions.

This position reports to the Day Production Manager. The shift supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production of the sweetened dried cranberry and juice concentrate operation. The shift supervisor will oversee all aspects of production to ensure the product meets quality specifications, proper materials are used, staffing for each area of operation is correct and reporting is done on time and accurately. The shift supervisor is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of materials and fruit. Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following and other duties may be assigned as necessary. Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the manager.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing production lines.
  • Will oversee 21 or more employees directly.
  • Ensures the crew is scheduled for each line and arranges for replacements if needed
  • Works with the quality assurance department to ensure food safety.
  • Reports any machinery and maintenance issues to maintenance staff or maintenance manager
  • Oversees set up and cleanup of production lines.
  • Responsible for oversight of all tank levels and flow rates dependent on production needs
  • Reports productivity to the production manager on a regular basis.
  • Recommends corrective action, when necessary, based on employee performance and an employee's ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Responsible for employee evaluations and administering disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of MVP Plant maintenance order program.
  • Understands how to use Redzone to record and retrieve information.
  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Completes daily reports as necessary.
  • Must know and follow Mariani Packing Lock - out / Tag - out, HACCP, and GMP policy.
  • Ensures that the staff understands and follows the company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Performs regular inspections of production runs to make sure product specifications are being followed.
  • Work with production manager and quality assurance staff to resolve any quality and food safety issues.

Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus.
  • An attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft programs and software.
  • Mechanical / Electrical trouble shooting fundamentals.
  • The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet internal and external deadlines.
  • The ability to adapt to consistently changing and evolving business needs.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • High integrity with a can-do attitude.
  • The ability to work night shift if needed.
