Job description
Duties This position is located in the Air Terminal Function Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, 153d Logistics Readiness Squadron, 153d Mission Support Group, in the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153d Airlift Wing. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of Air Transportation functions necessary to manage the day-to-day operations including but not limited to, airdrop and airdrop inspections, rigging responsibilities, wing deployment training, passenger and cargo manifesting, Joint Inspection, load planning, determining cargo/passenger eligibility, establishing and maintaining air terminal security, directly responsible for safe and efficient loading/offloading of all DOD-owned and controlled aircraft and ensuring In-transit Visibility. Selectee would be required to attend formal schools, if they do not have the required certifications. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Air Cargo Specialist Supervisor. Assignments are received in the form of work orders, inspection reports, or verbal instructions. Independently performs assignments after priorities and pertinent policy matters have been given. Plans inspection/other work sequences, selects tools and repair parts, and independently carries assignments through to completion referring only unusual and most difficult problems to supervisor. Work is subject to spot check upon completion for acceptability and adherence to instructions and established standards. Guidelines available for reference include technical orders and manuals, manufacturer specifications, factory engineering bulletins, and standard operating procedures. This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment KEY REQUIREMENTS: Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt. Must submit vMPF Rip/Data Verification Rip with application. Must possess AFSC 2T231, Air Transportation, to meet minimum qualifications. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Indefinite position may convert to Perm if funding/position is available. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT). Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives. Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician. Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice. Qualifications AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2 and 4 . If referrals are not made from either of the target categories, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 LRS. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (NG) Title 5 and T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Title 5 employee's must be eligible to convert to T32 Dual Status. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.
