Title: AV Project Engineer (Laramie, WY)

Reports To: Vice President of Customer Success
Position purpose and objective:
This position is responsible and accountable for management of project scope and installation including the directing, installing, programming, commissioning and troubleshooting of electronic, hardware, and wiring components of audio-visual systems according to company standards. Specifically, the AV Project Engineer is responsible for managing project installations and customer expectations by directing and overseeing a lead technician and/or team of technicians responsible for the installation of audio-visual systems primarily located in Laramie, WY ensuring all financial, programmatic and operating systems meet established targets. This position reports to the Vice President of Customer Success and is a member of the Operations team supporting the mission and goals of a "Best in Class" sales and AV integration program. As an operational member of a dynamic audio-visual integration operation, the AV Project Engineer will be responsible for loading AV Control Code, GUI, and DSP configurations. After installation is complete, travel to customers' sites is required to configure devices, load control code, test and commission and close-out projects in compliance with the company's policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.
This is a regional travel position and job sites will vary throughout the Wyoming/Colorado/ Montana metropolitan areas and across the west region of the United States. Residency within 50 miles of Laramie, WY is required. As a national company, work at job sites across the country is necessary when there is no work on confirmed, contracted projects in Laramie.
Essential job functions, duties and responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing, installing and commissioning audio-visual systems and providing end-user training on job site locations with minimal supervision and oversight. This position requires a variety of duties including but not limited to:
- Assisting in the definition of project scope and goals
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
- Loading Crestron and Extron control systems
- Configuring, loading and setting up DSP to meet design requirements and scope of work
- Commissioning and testing on-site and off-site systems
- Communicating with sales and operations to keep project goals in alignment with customer expectations and scope of work
- Cultivating a common purpose and teamwork among various company units and ensuring timely and effective communication with those units including Operations, Sales, Design, Accounting, Procurement and Purchasing
- Troubleshooting systems remotely with field technicians
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Extensive and varied AV experience
- Achievement of CTS-I certification and Wyoming Low Voltage license
- Demonstrated experience in providing end-user training
- Proficient with Crestron Toolbox
- Familiar with Extron Global Configurator Plus/Pro
- Experience working with customer IT departments
- Familiarity in installation, wiring and rack building
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to make important decisions under tight timelines and in a fast-paced environment
- Effective troubleshooting and time management skills
- Ability to travel on regular/constant basis and often on short notice with long/unusual work hours
- Successfully complete criminal background check, motor vehicle review, physical and drug test prior to start
- Professional, friendly and approachable
- Valid driver's license with less than two citations in last two years and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and complete ladder, lift and other safety training
- Audio DSP certifications such as Biamp and Q-SYS
- Experience with setting up and programming VTC systems
- Comfortable with frequent and direct written communication
- A desire to progress in job knowledge and qualifications
- A keen attention to detail and an ability to keep a cool head when placed in stressful situations
- Coordinating and directing a Lead AV Technician and/or one or more AV technicians on job sites
- Requesting and coordinating the travel and accommodation needs of AV technician teams
- Managing and maintaining the relationships with customer point-of-contacts at various job sites

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000 - $95,000 yearly salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with Wyoming prevailing wage requirements where applicable. Limited relocation assistance may be available to qualified candidates on a case-by-case basis.
