Engineering Graduate Scheme

Salary: £29,440

Quick overview:

On this graduate scheme, you'll have the opportunity to work in different roles across a range of equipment and technology environments, such as supporting the safety of new ships, weapon systems, or updates of battle tanks that are already in service. There are huge variety of areas that you can get involved in at DE&S.

The placements will span the engineering lifecycle; from early concept, next generation platforms and technologies, to acquisition and acceptance of new equipment, supporting in service systems through to the safe environmental disposal of obsolete equipment.

Once you've successfully completed the scheme, you may be offered a permanent position within one of our engineering areas. With support provided at all levels throughout your career, we'll help you reach your full potential as a Professional (Chartered) Engineer.

Entry requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English Language at a minimum of grade 4 (or equivalent qualification).

And

  • An accredited Engineering or Science Honours Degree from the list below, at minimum classification of 2:2 or higher

Certain degrees with comparable titles will be considered if the module content is alike. You are required to list the modules, both mandatory and optional, that you have undertaken on your CV so that degree relevance can be assessed.

All degrees must be accredited by a Professional Institution licensed by the Engineering or Science Council by September 2025.
