This Role: Head of People
Location: Farringdon, EC1N 8JS
Full Time Fixed Term Contract until July 2025
Salary: Competitive
We have an exciting opportunity within our People Team to work alongside Executive Directors and their senior leadership teams to provide strategic HR input on a range of critical business issues, managing complex relationships and enabling senior leaders to improve business performance through robust workforce planning and resourcing, employee engagement and wellbeing, employee relations management, organisational and job design, leadership and talent development, and colleague capability and skills.
To contribute to the development of a proactive, customer-focused and efficient HR service at MTVH by understanding evolving business strategies, legislative requirements, and workforce trends, leading work with HR colleagues to proactively create fit-for-purpose people solutions.
To drive delivery of significant change programmes and strategic initiatives that strengthen the MTVH culture, inculcate our values into the way we deliver services, and create the right environment to improve organisational performance.
Advise senior leaders of obligations and potential people risks to MTVH and support, guide, and coach them to ensure compliance with current employment legislation, the understanding and management of strategic and operational risk (including emerging/ongoing issues and complex casework through to ACAS/Employment Tribunal), and the pragmatic application of policies and processes.
To provide leadership and line management of Managers, People Advisors and People Assistants and facilitate an effective, easy, and seamless delivery of service to internal and external customers.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent professional experience/qualification (i.e., Chartered Member or Fellow of the CIPD). Desirable
- Experience in effectively leading small teams, including managing self and others through change. Essential
- Experience of working effectively as a credible Business Partner at both a strategic and operational level in a generalist HR environment. Essential
- Experience in a regulated environment where safeguarding is a high priority. Desirable
- Track record of using people systems and data to inform strategic decision-making. Essential
- Track record of shaping, developing, and implementing new people approaches across a diverse workforce. Essential
- Strong project management skills gained through formal qualifications and/or participation in significant change across a large organisation. Desirable
- Strong understanding of employment law and its application, including ACAS conciliation, employment tribunal, and settlement agreement processes, and the HR management of TUPE transfers and bid preparation. Essential
- Advanced organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives and meet conflicting demands Desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey authority, presence, and integrity to command respect from all levels of the organisation and from external partners.
- Ability to coach and facilitate performance through others.
- Ability to partner with and influence a range of stakeholders across complex networks. Essential
- IT literate ? able to manipulate Microsoft Excel spreadsheet data, with a practical understanding of Microsoft Office 365 collaboration tools (Teams, OneDrive, etc). Desirable
