Material Sales Executive - Plastic Recycling

Location: Hybrid between Home and London or Cannock offices

What you'll be doing;

The position will be within the Material Sales Department and is responsible for sourcing and developing outlets for recyclable plastic materials. This role will form part of a team whose primary focus is to sell or provide internal supply support of recovered materials (dry recyclables) from Veolia Sites and contracts across the UK to companies that will recycle, recover, reuse or manufacture new products and that are are ecologically sustainable, legally and environmentally compliant and financially stable. You will:

  • Manage a portfolio of recovered material streams with the responsibility for their placement and recycling.
  • Maintain and continuously develop a wide-reaching network of stakeholders, customers and industry professionals.
  • Understand and monitor changing material markets and industry developments, continuously developing market analysis, interpretation and mapping.
  • Promote the relevant activities of Veolia and its Material Sales Team both internally and externally through appropriate and designated means.
  • Be responsible to seek and attract new recyclers / reprocessors / end users that are ecologically sustainable, legally and environmentally compliant and financially.

What we're looking for;

  • Previous experience within the waste industry is preferred, with experience within the recovered plastic recycling industry an advantage.
  • Ideally with business / sales / international trade experience and knowledge about both domestic and cross border waste regulations
  • Strong interest in recycling and waste management or related industries
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, with excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Dynamic and able to cope with a fast pace / pressure environment, with a high level of computer literacy.
  • Empathy, social and networking skills, strong verbal and written communication.
