Your new company
A mid-tier full service advisory/accounting firm which has always punched above its weight in Advisory, our client has ambitious growth plans over the next 4-5 years, aiming at a 25% increase in fee income. As part of this they are looking to expand their Valuations function which currently sits alongside and works closely with Forensics.
Your new role
Reporting into the head of Valuations, you'll be working primarily on non-contentious matters. These are wide-ranging across business sectors and include valuations for tax purposes, commercial valuations, the implementation of employee share schemes, for financial reporting purposes including fair value of shares and PPAs . While contentious matters are largely dealt with by Forensics, sometimes you'll help on these too (for example matrimonial.)
Projects are primarily SME size and vary from straightforward to complex.
You'll have one direct report, though the firm is currently looking to bring in a second.
You'll be strongly encouraged to take part in business development, from drafting proposals to networking and cross-selling.

What you'll need to succeed
If your experience to date has been mainly contentious valuations, and if you're keen to amplify your experience in non-contentious then this could be the role for you! Or if you feel like the valuation projects you are given are too big, and you lack overview, this could be a really good way of introducing volume and variety.
Either way you'll be ACA qualified with at least 2 years' post-qual UK experience in Valuations (or 5 years' experience in total if you were a UK graduate trainee in Valuations.)
