Job Description Overview: Quantum Research International, Inc. Mission: This is a System Engineer position supporting the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Air & Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office, a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with focus on Mission Command systems. Responsibilities: Work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators to develop system level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve multiple systems.
These concepts define external interfaces, outline system behavior, and establish performance and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams.
Tasks include leading reviews and adjudicating comments made against the concepts.
Concept development will utilize a model-based system engineering (MBSE) approach. Required Skills and Qualifications: US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Candidate should have 3-7 years of progressively complex experience in system engineering or related experience.
Candidate must have experience in two or more of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, hardware, requirement decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
Candidate needs to have a record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.
Candidate must be comfortable working as a team member in an Agile environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions can meet the needs of the intended users.
Candidate must be highly organized with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.
Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a US Secret security clearance, with possibilities of working at higher classification levels. Desired Skills and Qualifications: Experience in support of DoD programs is highly desired, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program.
Hands on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF are desired.
Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence and SAFe Agile experience are a plus.
