Job description

Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for the Space Technical Director to serve on the Space Group leadership team. This position requires a talented and experienced senior technical leader that will lead, direct, assist, and develop organic growth and new business within the space market. The Space Technical Director will establish the Space Group technical direction for current and future programs; mature Space Group technical capabilities (internal investment; technical fellow nominations, engagement, and contributions; establish and maintain Space Group technical career path; and identify and pursue key hires); manage technical conference attendance, presentations, and exhibits; and manage technical writing processes, methodologies, standards, peer review, and training across the Space Group. Responsibilities Identify and develop strategic relationships with current and prospective customers with space stakeholders within the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and their Allies and Partners.
Identify and develop strategic teaming opportunities across the defense, intelligence, and commercial space industrial base.
Perform comprehensive target customer mission analysis, including mission areas, budget, organizational relationships, contract vehicles, and current industry partners.
Develop and execute technical maturation strategies that integrates current functional and mission capabilities, targeted future capabilities based upon comprehensive customer mission analysis, and technical growth areas to bridge current and future capabilities.
Identify active and contributing customer-funded activities and proposed Internal Research and Development (IRAD) necessary for the technical growth areas.
Establish, manage, and train capture and proposal solution architect role, responsibilities, and performance expectations to ensure comprehensive technical solutions are identified and matured in a timely manner within the proposal development process and the technical solution is consistently represented across proposal volumes.
Serve as overarching Space Group solution architect for all capture and proposal activities to develop a competitive offering with an innovative solution that is technically and programmatically achievable.
Space Technical Director will collaborate with Radiance, industry, and Government subject matter experts as necessary
Solutions must consider budgetary and schedule constraints, technology capability and availability, and internal staffing and capability.
Example Space Group offerings include space vehicle hardware/software components and integrated payloads; mission application development, including algorithms, software, and integrated solutions; ground command and control infrastructure and orchestration/execution software; and space test and training infrastructure.
Establish and manage the Space Group technical development career path, facilitating junior, mid-level, and senior personnel growth to enhance/expand their technical capabilities and integrate with technical personnel across the company.
Document and present current technical status, issues, opportunities, and path forward to the leadership team, Defense Sector Manager, and Executive Leadership as necessary. Required Skills Master's degree in engineering or relevant technical field.
Proven ability to lead and mentor a multidisciplined team. Demonstrated written and oral communication proficiency for complex technical concept articulation and presentation using architecture diagrams, oral presentations, and documentation.
Experience producing strategic technical documentation and plans to establish technology maturation strategies and roadmaps, technical solutions, and operational concepts.
Experience managing, mentoring, and growing technical personnel.
Active TS/SCI Clearance.
Required Experience Minimum 15 years' experience supporting the DoD and/or IC space community.
Experience performing opportunity capture through performing opportunity identification, qualification, and pursuit.
Experience leading, developing, writing, assessing compliance, and reviewing entire proposals (technical/schedule/cost) to ensure technical solution articulation and synchronization.
Experience developing proposal schedule and cost volumes and artifacts (Basis of Estimate and Bill of Materials) using industry standard processes and tools (MS Excel and Project).
Desired Qualifications 20+ years' experience supporting the DoD and/or IC space community.
Proven knowledge of defense, intelligence, and commercial space markets.
Relationships across the defense, intelligence, and commercial space markets.
Demonstrated proficiency coordinating internal and external investment to establish innovative, mature capabilities aligned with customer mission areas and solicitations.
Experience with USSF/SSC/SpOC/STARCOM, SpaceRCO, NRO, AFRL/RV, MDA, NASIC/NSIC, U.S. Army SMDC, and Navy Space customers. EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled
