Job description

Duties Manage staff in the research, planning, and execution of oversight projects, and administrative tasks and duties in support of direct reports which includes delegation, quality control, and critical feedback. Ensure oversight standards are met and security protocols are followed by staff, along with regular updates and recommendations to the senior leaders on progress and courses of action. Provide feedback on statistical/mathematical modeling decisions and interpretation. Balance technical nuances across domains of data, math/stats, machine learning, and software to connect them to business context and value for DoD OIG oversight components. Execution of special assignments from OIG and CIGIE Senior Leaders, working with the team to establish best practices for cooperation, and regular administrative tasks (approving training/performance reviews). Suitable for federal employment This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination. Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment, and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG. The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Specialized Experience: You must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of demonstrated experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as demonstrated experience managing or leading the development of major data engineering projects in a production environment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. Only experience and/or education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Education There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at this grade level. You MUST provide unofficial transcripts or other documentation to support your educational claims.
